Whether you’re a young photographer or an experienced professional, this contest gives you the opportunity to showcase your talent across four unique categories
Youth ( ages 10–17 )
A special category for the next generation of photographers, giving young talents the chance to share their creative perspective of the marine world.
Marine Conservation Message ( Adults )
Images that tell a story of sustainability, responsibility, and the importance of protecting our oceans. This category highlights photographs that inspire action and spread awareness.
Marine Wildlife ( Adults )
Celebrating the fascinating species that inhabit our waters. From the smallest creatures to majestic marine giants, this category is dedicated to showcasing the UAE’s vibrant biodiversity.
Arabian Gulf ( Adults )
A tribute to the unique beauty and cultural importance of the Arabian Gulf. Capture its landscapes, seascapes, and life both above and below the surface.

PARTICIPATION CRITERIA
- Open to all UAE residents and citizens.
- Minimum age to participate: 10 years old.
- Youth category: ages 10–17.
- Adult category: ages 18+.
- Employees of MX and its affiliates are not eligible.
- Entries must be original work (no stock images or previously published photos).
- Photographs must be taken in a natural setting.
- Accepted file formats: TIFF, JPEG, RAW.
- File size: 1–9 MB, resolution 300 dpi minimum (1831×1831 px or higher).
- Only limited digital enhancements are allowed. Both the original and edited versions must be submitted.
- All submissions must comply with ethical standards, ensuring animal welfare and adherence to laws/permits.
- Maximum of 6 photos per entrant (up to 2 per category).
Entries will be judged based on:
- Visual & Aesthetic Appeal – beauty, clarity, and overall impression.
- Content – emotion, relevance to theme, and conservation message.
- Originality & Style – creativity, uniqueness, and perspective.
- Technical Excellence – exposure, lighting, sharpness, and composition.
- Entries must be original work (no stock images or previously published photos).
- Photographs must be taken in a natural setting.
- Accepted file formats: TIFF, JPEG, RAW.
